About the Job

We are seeking a Sorter/Helper to join our team for a recycling yard in Montebello, Ca. The Sorter will be responsible for organizing and separating materials, assisting the team with other functions and learning other functions of the opertion.

**Sorting recyclables is not a glamorous job but it’s a necessary one that helps keep our community clean.**

Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas of recycling.
Perform cleaning duties and general housekeeping related to the work site.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
Dump boxes and containers of material into the designated area(s).
Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to work outside in rain or shine.
Bilingual in Spanish REQUIRED

Required:

Pass background check
Pass drug test
Reliability

Job Type: Full-time.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour.
Expected hours: 40-45 per week.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri: 8 AM-4:30 PM.
Sat: (Required) 8 AM-1:30 PM.

Duties:

Sort and segregate materials such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal for recycling purposes.
Inspect materials to identify and remove contaminants.
Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the sorting area.
Perform heavy lifting tasks as required.
Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes.

Qualifications:

Experience in waste management or recycling industry is a plus.
