Job Description
The Recruiter & Family Engagement Coordinator of the ASU College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) Scholars grant in the School of Transborder Studies serves as the primary liaison between prospective students, parents, Migrant Education Programs, and statewide community organizations that serve migrant seasonal farmworkers (MSFW) communities. The CAMP Project is a federally funded college access and retention program for the children of Arizona’s migrant seasonal farmworkers (MSFW). Under the supervision of the Director, tasks include outreach and recruitment, financial, college, and scholarship application assistance, financial literacy workshops, summer transition orientation, educational programming, cultural activities, leadership training, and family engagement workshops.
The Recruiter & Family Engagement Coordinator will provide outreach, recruitment, and engagement with the MSFW community. Successful candidates in this position have excellent bilingual (English/Spanish) communication and customer service skills - both oral and written - and a background in community engagement or student services. They will coordinate programs, events, and campus visits. Other characteristics that provide the framework for success are attention to detail, ability to multitask, and mindfulness of the following student populations: low-income, first-generation, underserved, and MSFW.
Salary Range
$42,000 - $48,000 per year (commensurate with education and experience)

Essential Duties
- Evidence of effective communication skills in English/Spanish, including public speaking.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement strategic and culturally tailored recruiting plans for recruiting undergraduate students, recruitment programs, and events.
- Serve as the point of contact for prospective students and liaises with the community, students, faculty, and staff to facilitate recruitment plans.
- Foster and sustain strong working relationships with campus and community partners, businesses, high schools, and organizations identified in the student recruitment plan.
- Develop, plan, and facilitate workshops, meetings, recruitment events, campus tours, and presentations with high impact on the program, including managing logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
- Maintain communication with prospective students, aiding them through the ASU and CAMP admission process, assisting with financial aid, scholarships, and registration procedures, and promptly addressing their questions and concerns.
- Assist in creating, editing, and distributing recruitment materials in English and Spanish, such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, and social media content.
- Initiate and prepare administrative reports and documents regarding program activities and student eligibility.
- Develop, implement, and assess the family engagement component of the summer transition orientation and subsequent family engagement activities.
- Ensure compliance with grant and university policies and procedures.
- Oversee student staff hiring, training, and supervision.
- Travel throughout Arizona, with occasional overnight stays, and work during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Attend local, statewide, and national statewide seminars, events, workshops, and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience working with high school students, student services, student activities, student outreach, recruitment, public relations, marketing, sales, or related areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with supporting MSFW or other underserved student populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid and university admissions processes.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and commitment to timely and extensive travel to specified areas by the specified date of employment. all traveling for work purposes would be paid for through program.
- Experience in working independently with attention to detail, adept problem-solving skills, and confident decision-making capabilities.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google applications (Sheets, Docs, Forms), Canva, Dropbox, Zoom, Adobe, and adapting to new technology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and sales techniques for effective recruitment and outreach.
- Experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Experience in creating presentation materials catering to diverse audiences and delivering presentations.
- Evidence in coordinating large-scale events, programs, and recruitment campaigns.
- Experience in working effectively in an environment subject to tight deadlines and potentially conflicting priorities.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse associated with the daily use of a desktop computer.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent in-state travel with overnight stays, predominantly to the Southern Arizona area, is required for outreach and recruitment to meet prospective students, families, and school personnel.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and commitment to travel extensively in the target area, including travel to target schools.
- During non-peak recruitment, anticipated work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm on the Tempe Campus, with occasional conference travel and evening and weekend events.
- Hybrid remote work will be considered upon completion of the training period. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
