Job Summary
Works under the direction and supervision of Recreation Therapist to create, implement, lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities.
Job Duties
+ Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups.
+ Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs.
+ Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted.
+ Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants.
+ Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies.
+ Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with tags coded with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander, and dietary restrictions needed by participant.
+ Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
Experience
Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Preferred)
