Recreation Therapist/ Director - Norwich New York Nursing Home

Valley View Manor Nursing Home located in Norwich, NY is currenlty seeking a vibrant and dynamic personality with A LOT of energy to fulfill the important role of the Activities Director position at our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility! Activities Director position is responsible for all resident activities of the community including coordinating all internal and external resident activities, creating the monthly activity calendar, arranging outside entertainment, assessing resident preferences, and guiding program to meet their needs. Responsibilities:

-Activities Director creates a fun and innovative recreational program for our residents, including entertainment, site-seeing, local outings, and other activities
-Activities Director assesses the interests and activity needs of our residents at the time of move-in and throughout their residency with us. Orient all residents to activity program and how to access activities
-Activities Director stimulates residents by offering activities that promote mental, intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical well-being
-Activities Director plans and develop monthly activities calendar and newsletter
-Activities Director coordinates and plan events that appeal to our residents.
-Activities Director Coordinates & attends major events with residents and families.

Job Requirements

-Associate or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred in Social Service, Therapeutic Recreation, or a field related to the position.
-Must have proven management experience and ability to manage staff
-Certification or Minimum of 2 years’ experience in preferred.
-Experience preferred in Recreational Therapy or related field
-Knowledge of MDS and CCP
