Overview:POSITION SUMMARY:
To monitor the daily operations of the Leisure Center facility and coordinate the activities of the associates while providing a welcoming environment for our Members and Resort Guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in supervising the daily operations of the Recreation Department.
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and direct Recreation associates in their daily duties.
- Assist with coverage of Recreation department staff call-off’s, and scheduling needs.
- Ensure all departmental payroll and HR forms are complete as needed.
- Ensure an optimal level of service, quality, and hospitality throughout the Recreation department by diffusing and handling guest/member issues and complaints as they arise.
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and work with Recreation Manager to continually improve.
- Manage and forecast revenue and expenses of the Recreation department with approval from the Recreation Manager.
- Monitor and control the maintenance of facilities and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
- Communicate with Recreation Manager to ensure operations of the Recreation department is adapting to resort business levels.
- Monitor member and resort guest activities to ensure facility regulations are obeyed.
- Conducts weekly inventory of supplies in order to anticipate amounts to be purchased and/or requisitioned to maintain par levels.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with health, fire and ABC regulations regarding food and beverage and building maintenance.
- Maintain all Recreation equipment, keep physical inventories of equipment and storage areas neat and organized.
- Attend scheduled training seminars and department meetings.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Keeps Recreation Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates and purveyors to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
- Maintains a professional standard at Glade Springs to include but not limited to: appearance, verbal discussions, written correspondence and interactions with members, associates and guests. Does not discuss confidential items with fellow associates or work related issues with members or guests.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education and Experience:
- Applicant must have at least a High School diploma, GED or presently attending High School.
- Must have proficient keyboard and computer skills.
- Must have excellent people and phone skills.
- Must have a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays and nights will be required.
- Must be willing to learn and work all tasks.
- Position relevant certifications including but not limited to CPO, Lifeguard, TIPS, and Food Handler training may be required as needed.
