Work Environment: Work is usually performed in a normal office setting but may involve traveling to various sites in the Township. Position may require time in-water or in physical activity/gym locations. Position will include work related duties on weeknights and weekends.
Summary
The Recreation Coordinator will execute various programs and activities within the Manheim Township Parks & Recreation Department. Duties include supervising programs and activities, interacting with program participants, event management and limited administrative duties.
Essential Functions
- Provide secondary supervision of part-time and seasonal staff.
- Serve as assistant league coordinator to the Elementary & H. S. Basketball programs during the Winter Sport Season. (November - March)
- Serve as a managing coordinator for administrative functions of Overlook Swim Team in the Summer Swim League season. (January - August)
- Serve in various roles which support the Summer Camp area throughout the summer season. (June - August)
- Serve as an assisting aide for the weekday Nature Preschool program, as needed.
- Assist area Managers with program execution and implementation.
- Coordinate and participate in various Special Events and Community Programs.
- Perform clerical & administrative duties, as assigned.

- A demonstrated knowledge of public speaking and problem-solving skills.
- Attend training seminars and participate in on-the-job training to develop skills and knowledge or assist in providing training to other staff.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to talk, hear and see.
- Able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently, with or without accommodation.
Competencies
- Willingness to obtain knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Organizational skills conducive to league management.
- Willingness to engage with parents and program participants.
- Knowledge of various sports and activities.
- Knowledge of English word usage, spelling, and punctuation.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent years of experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Teaching or coaching experience
- Teaching, coaching, administrative, or specialty certifications.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be 18 years or older
Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
