Job Title: Receptionist - Contract (2 months)
You are a Receptionist at a non-profit who will serve as the first point of contact, ensuring the office runs smoothly by managing administrative tasks, greeting visitors, and handling communications. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Location: Oakland, CA
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
This position pays: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
What You Will Be Doing:
- Greeting Visitors:
- Welcome and assist visitors courteously.
- Notify employees of visitor arrivals and maintain a visitor log.
- Issue visitor badges as needed.
- Answer, screen, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
- Relay accurate messages and handle general inquiries.
- Respond to general email inquiries or forward them to relevant team members.
- Perform clerical duties like filing, photocopying, and mailing.
- Schedule appointments and maintain meeting calendars.
- Manage office supplies and organization.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping:
- Maintain databases and filing systems.
- Process incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
- Ensure the reception area is clean and welcoming.
- Monitor and restock office supplies.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree or higher preferred).
- Prior receptionist or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
