Welcome to The Herrick House, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health Continuing Care. Our team provides ongoing care to individuals through our assisted living facility. Our teams of nurses, aides, food service, and environmental service employees work to create an environment that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents along with their families.
The concierge represents the residence in a professional, pleasant, courteous and accommodating manner to the community and general public. Assists Director of Business Services with resident billing and special projects. Duties include meeting and greeting all visitors to the residence and directing them to the appropriate person/area. Directs all incoming phone calls to the appropriate party and performs other clerical duties such as typing, mail sorting, copying, faxing, etc.

Essential Job Functions
Front Desk Responsibilities:
1. Handles all incoming telephone calls and greets guests and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
2. Directs calls, guests and visitors to appropriate person/department
3. Responds to resident requests in a kind and courteous manner
4. Coordinates front desk activities.
5. Communicating with co-workers either verbally, through the communication log book, and email (Outlook).
6. Maintains the front desk in a neat and orderly manner
7. Responds to emergency situations by contacting appropriate party (911), fire department, etc.
8. Sorts mail as needed
9. Ensures new employees receive employee identification badge on orientation day
10. Records guest meals in log book and distributes ticket as needed
11. Supports The Herrick House Directors as needed
Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience is required.
Certification/License: None Required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Is computer-capable and is able to adapt to work using Microsoft Offices and software packages used at The Herrick House. The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential. Must have knowledge of basic telephone reception systems and techniques. The ability to handle all incoming phone calls and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner, provide clerical support and represent the residence in a professional manner is required. The ability to respond calmly to emergency situations is essential. File maintenance and organizational skills are essential.
