Summary
Greets and directs residents, visitors, employees, physicians, and other inquiring parties in a cheerful and helpful manner 100% of the time. Answers all telephone calls by the third ring, kindly and professionally identifying oneself by name and the facility and provides assistance to caller (including returning calls & pages and transferring calls) 100% of the time per established department procedures. Alerts supervisor or seeks supervisor for guidance with any questionable phone calls, individuals, residents, or employee concerns. Accepts, documents, and delivers pertinent information and messages to appropriate personnel accurately and in a timely manner. Keeps workstation neat and reports equipment failures or other unusual circumstances to appropriate manager. Prepares, types, copies, and distributes documents with 100% accuracy and in a timely manner per established department procedures. Monitors all residents, guests, and any other individual who enters or leaves the facility. Reports to supervisor any personal, resident, or guest concerns in a timely manner. Ensures that all residents leaving the facility with a family member or guest is properly signed out prior to exiting the building. Opens and sorts office mail as appropriate and distributes to proper recipient within one hour after receipt of mail. Ensures that someone has relieved the receptionist and signs the logbook when he/she takes breaks and lunch or leaves station. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.

Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience helpful, but not required
- Minimum typing skills of 35wpm
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of functions and relationships of departments within a nursing home environment preferred
- Ability to handle multiple demands at the same time
- Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands for working with required equipment
- Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity
- Ability to read and understand written directions
- Occasionally lifts and transport items weighing up to 10lbs
