Receptionist - Nihon Kohden

The Receptionist is responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical and receptionist duties. Responsible for receiving and mailing packages, receiving telephone calls and visitors, as well as recording and relaying messages to appropriate personnel. Provides administrative support to company personnel and performs miscellaneous support functions as assigned. Responsible for projecting the Company’s professional image.

Essential Functions and Main Duties

• Receives and screens telephone calls; transfers calls to appropriate person or department in a timely, polite, and efficient manner; answers routine questions or directs them to appropriate personnel
• Accurately records and relays messages
• Performs various typing tasks including correspondence, updating company templates and miscellaneous documents required for departmental processing; assists with special projects assigned by various departments when needed
• Assists other departments with assignments when needed
• Receives and distributes mail daily
• Applies postage to outgoing mail through meter daily in time for postal pickup
• Ensures that work area is clean, organized, secure, and well maintained
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need

Education / Certification / Experience Required

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of experience with the use of a PC, postage machine, phones, and basic office equipment
• MS Office experience preferred
• Strong typing abilities preferred

Compensation

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $21.00. Actual pay rate is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions

Schedule: The regular hours for this part time position are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.

Physical: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
