Receiving Inspector
Pay Rate: 22ph - 23ph
About This Role
Our medical device manufacturing company is looking for a Receiving Inspector to provide hands-on support to the manufacturing operations. The receiving Inspector will primarily be responsible for completing component inspections within the receiving Inspection area and may assist in Final Acceptance inspections for sub-assembly and finished goods. The ideal candidate has experience working within Medical Device manufacturing operations and has experience inspecting components against criteria within specifications and schematics.
Responsibilities:
- Performing raw material/or components receiving inspections to ensure conformance to specifications
- Compares quantity and part number of items received with purchasing data and other Specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order
- Utilizes written inspection procedures, drawings, specification sheets, and first article samples during inspection.
- Support the MSA/Gage R&R activities for component inspection.
- Responsible for identifying Material Non-Conformances at Receiving Inspection and properly documenting all related activities.
- Places non-conforming materials and products on hold
- Completes, maintains, and distributes appropriate Quality records and documentation.
- Communicates directly with manufacturing, material control and quality personnel.
- Maintain compliance with non-conforming procedure and Receiving Inspection for First Article and Incoming Material
- Assist in Final Acceptance inspections for sub-assembly and finished goods (as needed)
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of inspection equipment and tools (i.e., calipers, rulers, pin gauges)
- Experience in performing component and material inspections
- Knowledge of Medical Device Quality Management System expectations; Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Data Entry Knowledge
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing operations experience within the medical device industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with On-machine measurement (OMM) or Coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) is preferred
