About the Job
The firm is seeking an Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join the Real Estate practice group in the Chicago or Houston office. We are looking to add a team member with a strong background in Commercial Real Estate including experience related to joint ventures for the acquisition, operation and development of real estate assets. An understanding of advising real estate clients in acquiring, financing, developing and selling all types of real estate assets would also be particularly valuable.

The Associate will join a supportive practice that provides advice to a broad range of industry leading companies on a full spectrum of matters related to real estate transactions, commercial development, fund formation, and real estate planning. Additionally, the Associate will have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including real estate investment funds and joint ventures, national and regional developers of retail, office and multifamily projects, publicly traded real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional investors and investment management institutions.

We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Three to six years of law firm experience.
- Skills and knowledge related to a broad range of real estate transactions.
- Experience related to transactions that involve office buildings, regional shopping centers, hotels, resorts, multifamily residential complexes, mixed-use projects, healthcare-related projects, single-tenant retail sites, warehouse and industrial sites, and commercial and residential condominium and cooperative projects.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Strong academic records and impressive communication abilities.
- A detail-oriented approach, the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice, an approachable and collaborative outlook, and self-motivation.
