Real Estate – Accounting Manager
A Real Estate firm located in Boston is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their growing team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of commercial properties. We are seeking candidates with strong property accounting experience within commercial real estate.

A Real Estate firm located in Boston is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their growing team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of commercial properties. We are seeking candidates with strong property accounting experience within commercial real estate.
Responsibilities:
- All property level accounting, including the following;
- Work with 3rd party property teams
- Rent rolls and lease maintenance
- Cash management, weekly check fundings
- Financial reports, annual budgets
- Tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations, review/approve operation, and tax escalations
- Loan compliance
- Audit support
- Joint Venture Accounting;
- Prepare financial reporting on a consolidation or combined level, including audited financial statements with footnotes
- Cash management including capital calls and distributions
- Calculate/process management fees
- Calculate income allocations including waterfalls
- Acquisitions;
- Review settlement statements; prorations and buyer/ seller credits
- Review estoppels
- Record opening entries
- Monitor al post-closing activity for true up with seller
- Onboard properties and train 3rd party teams on the firm’s financial standards and reporting
- Dispositions;
- Wok with Disposition team to respond to buyer diligence requests
- Prepare prorations
- Prepare and record closing entries including gain/loss calculation
- BA/BS degree in accounting
- 5 years od property accounting experience, 2 years within a management role
- Experience with Funds and Joint Ventures
- Understanding of waterfall calculations
- Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks at once
