What You Will Do
The Assistant Planning Manager is primarily responsible for supervising a high performing team that is analyzes and plans for the distribution of product into and out of the facility while resolving inventory discrepancies (damages, lost inventory, new inventory) and supervising costs. This role manages and oversees the inbound planning of products to meet outbound demand and ensures the facility is achieving or exceeding performance targets. This is accomplished by monitoring the support team’s activities and reviewing reports.
What We're Looking For
• Required to work a set schedule that meets the needs of the facility.
• May be asked to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and/or weekends based on the needs of the facility.
• Must work in a distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.
• Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
What You Need To Succeed
_Minimum Qualifications_
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field plus 1 year of experience in distribution center operations or related area OR 5 years of experience in distribution center/warehouse operations or related area
• Leadership experience with or without direct report responsibility
• Experience mentoring and coaching others
• Proven record for complying with safety requirements
_Preferred Qualifications_
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Experience mentoring and coaching others
• Experience leading others through change
• Experience building a culture of safety among subordinates and peers
• Experience creating and managing budgets and forecasting
• Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Access and/or Lowe’s data management system (DMS)
