Job Summary:
Reporting to the Rapid Rehousing coordinator, it is the responsibility of the Rapid Rehousing Assistant to support the team with apartment inspections, coordinating moving services, facilitating furniture pickups, and supporting mediation efforts between landlords and tenants.

FLSA Category: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with moving into new apartments, including transporting belongings and coordinating services.
- Schedule and oversee external moving services as needed.
- Assist in performing some initial inspections of potential apartments to ensure compliance with safety and housing codes.
- Facilitate communication between landlords and tenants to address maintenance concerns.
- Collect and deliver furniture donations from community partners to client homes.
- Stay informed or be trained in housing regulations, code enforcement, and tenant rights.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds assisted.
- Ability to safely navigate stairs and perform frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and lifting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet research, and databases.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Familiarity with housing regulations, code enforcement, and tenant rights preferred (training available).
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of role required background checks.
- Clean NYS driving record, reliable transportation with a driving abstract and defensive driving certification within 30 days of hire.
