This role's main functions are to efficiently prepare food items from menus set by the Food Service Manager, focusing on quality and consistency while adhering to food safety guidelines.
This position reports directly to the Value-Added Kitchen Manager. This is a full-time position, not to exceed 40 hours each week
Requirements
- Must obtain a Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.
- 1 + years' experience in a food service environment.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment, i.e., walk-in cooler, and/or freezer.
- This position will be required to use, clean, and maintain heavy-duty juicing machinery while adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, to sit, squat, or kneel occasionally, and to climb rarely
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper food safety guidelines based on local health code.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling standards.
- Maintain accurate and retrievable records of waste.
- Proficiency in knife skills.
- Follow standardized recipes as written to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure all cooking and food storage areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively to ensure all prep and menu items are prepared according to the production schedule.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, utilizing a "clean as you go" attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
