PRS is currently seeking an Experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our East St. Louis, Illinois rail terminal, serving a resilient industry. You will be an employee of Pacific Rail Services and not an employee of the Railroad.
Position Overview:

Compensation:
- Competitive hourly pay with potential yearly earnings ranging from $55,000 to $70,000, inclusive of overtime.
- Pay rate is commensurate with experience,.
Shift:
- Monday-Friday day shift with some Weekend call ins.
Union Affiliation:
- We are affiliated with District 9.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mechanical field with a focus on preventative maintenance.
- Must possess a complete set of personal tools (yearly tool allowance provided).
- Proficiency in working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel systems and components.
- Valid driver's license is a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Diesel Mechanic with PRS, your key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing overhead cranes and side-loader equipment.
- Addressing maintenance and repair needs for the hostler fleet, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Ensuring the maintenance of the hostler fleet.
- Performing welding and fabricating tasks.
- Working on electrical components.
- Routine equipment maintenance.
- Providing assistance in various areas as required by management.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Successfully pass a 7-year background check
- Pass a drug test. & a IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
- No GED or diploma is required.
