Talascend is currently seeking a Rail Sr. Engineering Manager - Track for a direct hire opportunity with our client.

OVERVIEW:
Employs creativity, foresight, and mature judgment to anticipate and address unprecedented problems. This role involves making authoritative decisions and recommendations that significantly impact extensive organizational activities. Responsible for setting priorities, reconciling competing interests, and working on programs with complex features.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a technical discipline team for the organization.
- Develop standards and guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as required to meet business needs.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to design and engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in track and industrial design.
- Proven leadership in mentoring teams
- Lead business development efforts, identifying opportunities to expand industrial services.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- 15+ years prior experience.
- Engaged in life-long learning to stay current with contemporary issues.
- Established relationships with railroad clients.
- Business development skills.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
- Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO.
- Member of a professional practice organization, national board member or officer, recognized expert on statewide activity, and a resource for national activities and organization.
