Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Radiology Ultrasound Technician to join our partner hospital in Abilene, Texas. This full-time, night shift position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, utilizing your skills to provide critical diagnostic imaging services.
Job Summary:
As a Radiology Ultrasound Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound scanning procedures, capturing detailed anatomical images, identifying potential pathology, and reporting preliminary findings to the Radiologist. You will play a key role in the diagnostic process, contributing to accurate and timely patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings and techniques to optimize image quality.
- Explain procedures to patients, address their questions and concerns, and ensure their comfort throughout the examination.
- Identify and document any abnormal findings or suspected pathology.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
- Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology or Ultrasound program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiology Ultrasound Technician.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) eligibility.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Texas Medical Board MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) certification or ARDMS certification.
