About the Job
- Radiology safety training, BLS certification, and completion of RT program required.
- RT Certification Required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience is preferred.
- Operates radiologic equipment to produce images for procedure guidance under the supervision of the physician
- Takes precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation
- Assists in radiology quality assurance and quality improvement activities
- Effectively communicates with patients, family, and other health care team members
- Sets up procedure rooms including equipment and supplies
- Participates in performance improvement data collection
- Follows all safety requirements of the facility per policy under the direction of the Governing Board
- Practices radiation protection techniques using restrictive devices, patient shielding skills and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff
- Uses personal protective equipment including lead aprons as required
- Properly operates, mobilizes, and positions equipment
- Sets up and uses appropriate techniques and protocols as indicated
- Responsible for safe operation of radiologic equipment
- Cleans equipment and stocks procedure rooms as needed
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and advises supervisor of equipment malfunctions
