RADIOLOGY/LAB TECHNICIAN - Ephraim McDowell Health

Performs technical procedures to obtain radiographic films of various portions of the body using recognized radio-graphical techniques to assist physicians in diagnosis of diseases and injuries with a minimum of ionizing radiation being applied. Collects and processes laboratory specimens. Performs additional basic laboratory procedures. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Must exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

Education: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technologists.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as staff radiographer preferred. Prior experience and/or training in laboratory procedures preferred. Must obtain phlebotomy certification within the orientation period. ICD-9 coding experience preferred.

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to operate radiation exposure equipment, lab equipment, and computers. Works with specimen collection devices including needles, syringes, and vacutainers. Uses certifuge and basic laboratory tools.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Techs. Must maintain current KY Radiation Operators General Certificate from the Department of Human Resources.
