Position Overview
HireNow Staffing is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our client's team in Lewiston, ID. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate individual to contribute to the care of cancer patients. You'll be part of a team working with state-of-the-art equipment, including the Elekta Versa with VMAT, GE CT, and PET CT, while providing quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Radiation Therapy Administration:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Ensure treatments are delivered accurately and safely according to protocols.
- Collaborate with the oncology team to review treatment plans and assess patient progress.
- Patient Interaction:
- Work directly with patients, providing education on the radiation therapy process and offering emotional support.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure a clear understanding of treatment processes.
- Collaboration and Education:
- Explain radiation therapy procedures to patients, their families, and medical staff.
- Stay current on the latest practices in radiation therapy through continuous education.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate radiation therapy equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Work with experienced dosimetrists and physicists to ensure accurate delivery of treatments.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensing:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiation Therapist.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of radiation therapy functions, and the ability to explain its role to staff and the public.
- Experience:
- Continuing education as prescribed by JCAHO and A.R.R.T.
- Experience in a Radiation Oncology Department is desirable but not required.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience in a Radiation Oncology Department is beneficial.
Compensation & Benefits
- Sign-on Bonus: $25,000
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 for qualified candidates.
- Salary:
- Based on years of experience, ranging from entry-level to highly experienced professionals.
- Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- State-of-the-Art Equipment:
- New Elekta Versa with VMAT (commissioned in 2023).
- GE CT and PET CT on-site.
- Team Support:
- Work alongside a Radiation Oncologist with 30 years of experience, and a team of experienced therapists with a combined total of over 55 years.
- Onsite dosimetrist and physicist support.
