Position Summary:

Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, ensuring accurate dosage and precise targeting to maximize therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Radiation Therapy Administration: Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to prescribed treatment plans.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and other healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.

Patient Education: Educate patients about the radiation therapy process, including potential side effects and self-care measures.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor patients' reactions to treatment and report any adverse effects or changes in condition to the healthcare team.

Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field.

Certification: ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.

Licensure: Texas state licensure as a Radiation Therapist.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical setting.

Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting radiation therapy equipment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

System Experience: Experience with Varian and Elekta radiation therapy systems.

Software Knowledge: Familiarity with ARIA Oncology Information System.
