Radiation Oncology Department Manager - Tanner Health System

The Radiation Oncology Department Manager will perform many administrative duties as needed within the department in addition to providing financial counseling to patients and working closely with reimbursement staff and the business office to ensure timely account follow-up. The Radiation Oncology Department Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations activities of the department, as well as the processing and analysis of self-pay segment of account receivable, including formulation of action plans, prioritization of work, analysis of results, and customer service functions. Updating patient accounts, talking with patients, and resolving patient problems.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: One year of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.

Qualifications

* One (1) year experience in credit and collections, or patient accounting. May substitute customer service, teaching, sales, or experience in other occupations which require control of conversation,and ability to compromise when necessary.

* Responds to patients in a friendly, prompt, and caring manner maintaining confidentiality and respect.

* Data entry or typing experience required. 30 to 40 wpm.

* Business-like appearance, neat, pleasant demeanor with the ability to communicate with a varietyof people of different backgrounds.

* Promotes mutual respect and professionalism. demonstrates positive behavior toward patients, physicians, and coworkers.

* Ability to analyze and prioritize workloads.

* Must be able to spell and write emails and business letters which are effective, and grammatically correct.

* Excellent verbal communication skills.

* Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing helpful but not required.

* Attention to detail in daily work duties and functions. ability to problem solve using creativity and analytical skills.

* Ability to perform job duties at satisfactory levels using Epic, Aria, and all other office programs.

* 2 years Radiation Oncology practice management preferred.

* Computer experience required. Ability to work closely with others and function as a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain stable performance under stressful conditions. Good verbal communication skills
