****** MVR Required ***
The technician will need to work collaboratively with test engineers to develop cost/weight effective NVH countermeasures in order to meet vehicle performance targets. This will require data analysis using Siemens SimCenter Test Lab software & MS Excel. In addition, the technician will support system improvement, countermeasure development, and process enhancement.
B. Job Responsibilities
- Primary job function is to provide test support for total vehicle noise & vibration development including: Acceleration Noise, Road Noise, Wind Noise, Exterior Pass-by Noise, and vehicle Shake & Shimmy.
- The technician will perform all proving ground NVH tests per Nissan engineering test standards. This includes instrumenting the vehicle, conducting the test, acquiring accurate data, performing subjective evaluations & analyzing / plotting the data.
- Support and participate in engineering lead proving ground and public road events to evaluate and validate vehicle performance.
- The technician will also need to conduct competitive vehicle evaluation & benchmarking activities. Travel up to 15% is required in order to support vehicle launch activity & field scrambles with engineering teams to provide quick feedback to address customer concerns.
1. Job Knowledge and Skills:
- HS Diploma orequivalent required, some college coursework or associates degree preferred.
- Prior Automotive technician experience preferred; ability to conduct part swaps and fabricate prototype parts for testing.
- Basic knowledge of vehicles and noise/vibration principles (including effective problem solving skills & ability to conduct subjective vehicle evaluations).
- Dynamic Vehicle test experience preferred in Noise & Vibration testing or equivalent discipline utilizing instrumentation and test set-up.
- Proficient use of instrumentation & signal processing (Siemens SimCenter software & MS Excel preferred).
- No driving restrictions
- Ability to lift ~50lbs from floor to waist height.
- Must be self-motivated to learn, perform and grow in a dynamic team environment; must have good communication and interpersonal skill appropriate to cross cultural/cross functional work environment; must be willing to work overtime and be a team player; must be able to self-manage deadlines.
- Use of the Microsoft Office suite required
- Overtime requirement up to 20% & requires time management skills to keep test timing on track.
