R&D Specialist III- Agrochemical Formulations
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop formulation products and characterizes their drift performance to support Bayer Crop Science pipeline launch. Operates and innovates instrumental testing to quantify sprays of agriculture formulations from a drift and deposition perspective. Works as a cross-functional collaborator representing Formulation Technology.
The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist III- Agrochemical Formulations, are to:
- Work in laboratory to develop and improve formulations containing agrochemical actives with differentiated product performance and application properties;
- Evaluate in the laboratory the impact of co-formulant and/or adjuvant on key spray performance of products to identify the lead candidates for further advanced test;
- Be involved in laboratory testing, appraise spray performance to support Bayer’s Crop Sciences pipeline portfolio and cross-functional collaboration;
- Responsible for sample preparation, testing, and data analysis with problem solving capabilities;
- Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment for spray tests;
- Execute and optimize workflows, develop, and validate new workflows to expand lab capabilities;
- Design and analyze experiments including Design of Experiments (DOE)and other means of testing and optimization;
- Have effective communication and interpret the results of experiments, cost/benefit analysis, and challenges to partners and key stakeholders;
- Be accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms and process areas;
- Prioritize and coordinate work within a team structure and contributes to evaluating and understanding project requirements and documentation;
- Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high-quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and show initiative in accomplishments, both individually and in teams;
- Promote a strong commitment to safety and diligently follows safety protocols and best practices;
- Maintain detail record keeping in ELN, prepares reports and authors internal publications.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience;
- Knowledge of aerosol and liquid sprays;
- Basic knowledge on chemistry, engineering, and scientific principles with the ability to design experiments and analyze data;
- Working knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods, data analysis and visualization software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with minimum of 2 years relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years relevant experience;
- Experience with data capture using electronic lab notebook and LIMS (or similar software);
- Expertise in spray performance characterization testing is preferred;
- Prior experience in formulation development in agrochemical, consumer products or other industries would be a plus.
Domestic relocation may be offered for this role.
