R&D Senior Metrology Technician - Coherent Corp.

• Performs technological tasks related to substrate characterization in accordance with instructions from the Engineering Team. These tasks include cleaning and inspection of wafers, surface, defect and other wafer characterization tasks
• Monitors data from characterization tools, participates in gauge R&R exercises, performs basic data analysis under the guidance of engineers. Maintains accurate records in accordance with procedures.
• Participates in the maintenance of technological equipment. Participates in troubleshooting of equipment, identifies causes and participates in in-house equipment repairs.
• Supports inventories of spare parts and materials.
• Supports the development and evolution of operating procedures.
• Participates in FMEA activities.
• Keeps technological areas clean. Actively participates in housekeeping initiatives.
• Follows all health, safety, environmental and ergonomic requirements, regulations and procedures

• Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline is desirable.
• Hands-on experience in a technical field. A one-year or more work in a related technical field is a plus.
• Exposure to a technological process, equipment maintenance, measurements and data collection are plusses.
• Computer literate. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Email and Internet.

• Must be technically inclined with good mechanical skills.

• Must be well organized and able to perform several tasks in parallel.
• Must be computer-literate to operate computer-controlled equipment and make data entry.
• ITAR compliance requirement: Individual must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Normal working hour 9-5; however, must be prepared to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as a part of R&D work schedule.
