R&D Engineer III
SUMMARY
SUMMARY
- R&D Engineer III is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems, and processes.
- Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.
- Develops project plans, and leads end-to-end efforts to test prototypes of new products in line with regulatory standards and writes associated product development reports.
- Defines specifications to ensure quality with respect to finished products.
- Manages research and development process for various mid and long-term projects (1.5 3 years).
- Troubleshoots various issues pertaining to concept designs and production products through testing and computer-based statistical analysis.
- Manages analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion chromatography, electrochromatography, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet, amongst others), to investigate chemical compositions.
- Interprets analytical data and presents scientific results to relevant teams.
- Communicates and maintains contact with customers, staff and suppliers, as well as stakeholders and partners.
- Stays aware of, and keeps up to date with, health and safety issues in addition to updating the latest scientific and technical trends.
- Validates methods and equipment.
- Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
- May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Works on complex projects of large scope. - Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives.
- Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new processes or projects.
- May act as a mentor to less experienced colleague.
- BS in science or engineering or equivalent experience.
- 4-8 or more yrs. of experience.
