R&D Engineer

Job Summary:

A leading company in the flexible packaging industry seeks an experienced R&D Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in polymer science, chemical engineering, or material science, with at least five years of experience in the polymer or plastics industry. This role focuses on new product development, technical innovation, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage new product development projects, including design, trial execution, process optimization, and commercialization.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective R&D activities.
• Monitor, research, and evaluate advancements in polymeric materials, packaging technology, and processes for flexible packaging applications.
• Maintain accurate R&D records, documentation, and project status reports.
• Support the QA lab by improving efficiency, interpreting test data, training technicians, and managing related documents.
• Assist Sales and Marketing in promoting products through customer visits and presentations.
• Collaborate with the Production team to address product quality issues, improve processes, boost productivity, and reduce costs.
• Foster teamwork and effective communication across departments while adhering to quality and safety standards, including ISO 9001 compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by R&D management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemistry.
• At least 5 years of experience as an R&D Engineer in the polymer/plastics industry, preferably in flexible packaging.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to supervise and motivate teams in a manufacturing environment.

Compensation:

• Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 per year.
• Benefits: Full benefits package available.
