Join our dynamic team as a Permanent R&D Chemist in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chemist to apply their skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The successful candidate will be integral to our R&D team, focusing on the development and improvement of flavors and ingredients in our products. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about science, innovation, and flavor development, and who thrives in a challenging, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead research and development initiatives for new product development and existing product improvement, focusing on flavor and ingredient innovations.
2. Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to make strategic recommendations.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and marketing, to ensure product development aligns with company objectives and market trends.
4. Develop and optimize formulations for flavor and ingredient systems.
5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, findings, and procedures.
6. Ensure all activities are compliant with health and safety regulations.
7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in flavor and ingredient technologies.
8. Conduct sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies to assess product quality.
9. Provide technical support to production teams during scale-up and manufacturing of new products.
10. Present research findings to key stakeholders and make recommendations for future development.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong understanding of flavor chemistry and ingredient functionality.
4. Proven experience in product development and formulation.
5. Proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
11. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
