Our client in the investment space in Boston is seeking a Quantitative Developer for a full-time role in Boston, MA. As a Quantitative Developer seated within the Quantitative Investment Science group, you'll be at the forefront of technical innovation, collaborating directly with fellow Quant team members and investment professionals across various strategies. Your primary focus will be on conceiving, implementing, and refining web-based quantitative tools and algorithms to enhance and automate our investment and asset allocation processes. This role is tailor-made for an adept software engineer who is eager to hone their technical prowess within a dynamic and high-paced quantitative environment integrated into a top-tier private equity investment team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and rigorously testing web applications aimed at streamlining investment decisions.
- Continuously enhancing existing tools and crafting new ones, leveraging feedback and emerging technologies to ensure their efficacy and relevance.
- Collaborating closely with senior researchers and analysts, keeping abreast of cutting-edge trends and methodologies in quantitative finance.
- Engaging directly with investment professionals to translate concepts into actionable software solutions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Python and its associated data stack.
- Hands-on experience with various testing techniques including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Ability to craft modern, user-friendly web experiences.
- Understanding of system design principles.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or equivalent.
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms, performance optimization, and API efficiency.
- Preferred (though not mandatory): Previous experience in the financial industry, familiarity with technologies like React and TypeScript, understanding of containerization, experience with CI/CD pipelines, proficiency in statistical modeling and exploratory data analysis.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of development experience preferred.
