About the Job
Position Summary:
As a Quality Technician, you will be performing in-process and final inspection on manufactured assemblies to ensure compliance to blueprints and specifications as required by the manufacturing working instructions. Quality Technicians at Nammo Defense Systems are responsible for conducting visual and dimensional inspections using standard measurement tools and specialized go / no-go gauges, as well as preparing and maintaining inspection documentation.

• Prepare to inspect product by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications, inspections, and testing procedures.
• Review paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy of all documents including, MIL-STD-1916 sampling size, First Articles, certificate of analysis, and conformity among others.
• Inspect product to verify conformance to specification of the parts by measuring dimensions using instruments such as gauges, calipers, comparators micrometers, optical comparator, etc.
• Perform First Article inspections as required
• Perform inspection and measuring tasks with minimum supervision
• Actively participate in Daily Visual Management activities and communicate with the Quality Engineering team to problem solve.
• Be dedicated to the integrity of the quality function and possess a drive to enhance the quality of both the product and processes.
• Be able to adapt to the use of new equipment and learn new product and materials.
• Perform other quality related duties and be flexible in the factory/plant as assigned based on business needs.
• Generate and perform verification activities on Non-Conforming Material and discrepancy reports.
• Complies with all Quality Procedures and Policies.
• Must have good verbal and written skills.
• Must be able to make accurate measurements
• Must understand, read and write English.
• Must be able to complete all training to obtain inspection certifications.
• Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints.
• Must be able to problem solve with little or no direction.

Required Experience & Skills:
• HS Diploma / GED and 2-5 years of relevant inspection experience is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to input, retrieve, access, and send information via computer.
• Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Note* Must have the ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years progressive inspection experience preferred in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
• Certified IPC J-STD-001 Specialist in solder inspection.
• 4+ years in a progressive manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience working with energetic materials.
• Advanced proficiency with detailed drawings including geometric tolerances, dimensions, general features, and blueprint reading.
• Experience with performing internal process audits.
• Advanced proficiency utilizing gauging including attribute and variable gauges.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong GD&T experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
Working Conditions – Physical requirements and environment
• Approximately 20% of time at desk using computer.
• Approximately 80% of time on production floor, requiring safety glasses, protective footwear, and explosives handlers’ outer garments, as needed.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crawl and stand for inspections of parts.
• Ability to lift materials up to 40-80 pounds with assistance.
