SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the manufacturing team
- Support the Build in Quality initiative by conducting final product inspections for the designated area
- Execute product and process validation / inspection plans - Identify and contain suspect defective material
- Have the potential to utilize advanced metrology equipment to control processes and identify defects
- Inspect, test or measure components, products and materials being produced.
- Initiate and participate in quality related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects
- Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within responsible area
- May perform other duties as assigned Potential business travel to support product /process development at company and supplier locations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality processes, automotive repair, or mechanical work preferred
- Knowledge of statistical process control / control charts High school education or equivalent -Bachelors Degree Preferred 2+ years of manufacturing, assembly, or quality experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Pre-Production vehicles and high-volume manufacturing processes is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience
- Experience with metrology equipment and Kaizen methodologies is a plus
- Continuous improvement process experience -Vehicles features knowledge Customer Quality expectations understanding
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintain instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in a variety of manufacturing processes or mass assembly operations
- Blueprint reading of component and assembly/sub-assembly configuration
Additional Requirements:
• Dependent upon customer and regional location, the following requirements may apply:
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel to customer facility on short notice
Travel Required to Normal Illinois about 4 months/year or so (3 weeks or so every couple months through 1 year contract)
