Position Title: Quality Technician / Auditor
Department: Quality
Reports To: Quality Manager
The Position:
Under the direction of management, the employee is responsible for performing inspections, auditing, and/or calibration to determine conformance to specification and uphold the quality standards of the company.
Specific and Essential Duties:
- Employee will use engineering drawings, inspection plans, work instructions, final assembly drawings, and bills of materials or other specifications to perform inspection of finished goods, assembled product, internal manufactured parts, purchased product, or internal processes. (Inspection)
- Is responsible for clearly documenting the acceptance or rejection of parts or product through use of appropriate forms, tickets, logs, etc. Notifies in a timely manner the appropriate personnel of the nature of any reject. Follows through to assure rejected product is segregated and processed in a way consistent with published procedures. (Inspection)
- Maintains appropriate documentation to assist in product traceability and to support other quality programs. (Inspection)
- Must be able to translate engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements into effective control / audit plans with emphasis on detecting and correcting non-conforming product. (Audit)
- Maintains appropriate documentation to meet company future ISO requirements. (Audit)
- Responsible for conducting in-process auditing, work with the departments audited to resolve compliance issues, provide recommendation, communication on status of action resolution and bringing to management issues that require attention tracking corrective actions. (Audit)
- Is knowledgeable about and uses a wide variety of measurement devices. Assures such devices are in the calibration system and are in working order. Notifies Supervisor if new gages or tools are needed to properly inspect product or processes. (Calibration)
- Follows good housekeeping practices within the work area. (5S)
- Performs product or process troubleshooting as required. Interfaces with Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, or other groups on issues pertaining to product and/or process discrepancies. (Continuous Improvement)
- Responsible for entering in-process and or finish good audit data into MAS500, Excel, or other data collection software as necessary. (Computer Skills)
- Performs duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations required by Company, Federal, State and Local provisions. (Safety)
- Performs other duties within the scope of job assignment as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two year Associate Degree preferred.
- Prior Quality Technician / Auditor / Inspector Experience (1-2 years)
- Ability to make decisions based upon facts.
- Employee must be able to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support at team environment.
- Must be trained in applicable quality system procedures, work instructions and ERP Systems.
- Must have training and/or experience with measuring equipment including, but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, gage pins, pressure gages, torque wrenches, and digital multi-meters.
- Must have minimum computer skills with MS Word and MS Excel.

- Simple to moderate physical exertion.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
