Senior Quality Technician
Location: Bristol, RI
Shift:8AM- 5PM
Pay Rate: $26 - $34/hour (Depending on Experience)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quality Technician to join our team. The Senior Quality Technician will play a critical role in ensuring product quality by utilizing various measuring tools, conducting inspections, and managing quality processes. This role requires expertise in quality assurance standards, data analysis, and calibration programs, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, and optical systems for product inspections.
- Perform visual inspections and ensure quality characteristics of components meet specifications.
- Manage site calibration programs and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and AS 9100 standards.
- Conduct incoming material inspections and track discrepant materials through the DMR process.
- Generate process capability and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) reports using software like Minitab.
- Complete first and last article inspections promptly and accurately.
- Create and review quality inspection plans based on customer part drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Follow all safety regulations, including PPE requirements, and comply with environmental policies.
- Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization in line with 5S principles.
- Record and report data accurately, escalating issues according to protocol.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance output, quality, and efficiency.
- Act as a reference for quality-related questions and provide recommendations to team members.
- Cross-train in other quality roles, including materials testing, as assigned.
- Handle raw materials and hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, CMM, optical measurement systems, and other tools.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS 9100 standards.
- Experience with PPAP, control plans, and PFMEA preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions meticulously.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Maintain high attendance standards and work in above-ambient temperatures.
