Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established company standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Responsibilities:Responsible for final inspection which includes the following: a) witnessing functional and hydrostatic tests sometimes witnessed by customer or customer's representative b) writing certified test reports and verifying material c) contacting customers and scheduling schedule for inspections d) inspecting packaging and marking of product for shipment. Would be liaison with customer inspectors, etc.
Supervises in-process inspection a) inspection of product for dimensional accuracy and finish requirements in fabrication and machining b) coating quality including thickness or coating when required c) assurance of valve being properly assembled including operators.
Over sees receiving inspection: a) inspect quality of raw materials as received b) establishing control and disposition of nonconforming materials and components received c) inspection of vendors workmanship at their facility as required d) performing first article inspection and subsequent reports.
Manages calibration of precision measuring tools and test gauge. Maintains documentation of calibrations.
Performs or instructs performance of non-destructive (i.e., x-ray, LDP) and destructive tests in house or by vendors and reports as required.
Manages inspection and reporting of returned goods; issues reject reports and controls the usage of rework numbers. Reports on warranty and rework cost to the Plant Manager.
Maintains welder qualification program; supervises qualification testing, maintains records and issues welder's stamps.
Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with Production Manager to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Manages calibration of precision measuring tools and test gauge and maintains documentation of calibrations.
Maintains all ISO9001 standards, documentation, etc.
Position Requirements:Currently will directly supervises one employees in the quality assurance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Foundry practice, product inspection techniques, Quality Assurance standards, and manufacturing techniques.
