Job Details
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensure that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained and achieved.
Manage and direct the daily responsibilities and performance standards of the QC Technicians.
Supervise employees in the Sanitation Department. Develop and implement sanitation SOP’s and carry out specific training for sanitation employees.
Implement, maintain and review the audit system to ensure that critical procedures for product safety are in place and complied with.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), conduct annual review of accuracy.
· Maintain compliance to the established Safety Programs (SQF, OSHA, and GMP).
· Work in partnership with production team to ensure adherence to quality standards.
· Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including customer complaints and internal non-conformities.
· Develop and maintain quality metrics, reports, and documentation to track and communicate performance.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
· Remain current with industry trends and advancements to proactively address emerging quality challenges.
· Manage non-conformances and ensure preventative/corrective action is taken and recorded.
· Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes.
· The quality of raw materials and components impacts the company's output quality significantly. Note any quality deviations and immediately correct them. Conduct periodic evaluations of supplier performances to ensure that the supplier provide raw materials per agreed expectations.
· Learn the plant's processes: Understand the critical processes of the Company, purchasing, warehouse, and production plant to help identify potential quality issues and implement suitable measures to correct them. Spend some time operating critical machinery and equipment to gain a practical understanding of the production line. It can also help build a positive relationship with machine operators, who can alert of quality issues.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field required.
HACCP and Internal audit certified preferred
· Seven years previous experience as a QC Manager role within a food manufacturing environment required.
