REPORTS TO: VP Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing quality personnel, customer and supplier interface, and maintaining compliance with all AS9100, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage a small to medium team of engineers and quality personnel
- Maintain the Capewell Quality efforts and personnel
- Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and AS9100 Aerospace Standard
- Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements
- Develop and assure Quality Assurance Department budget is maintained
- Manage internal auditing activities
- Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments, to draft acceptable quality standards and compliance procedures
- Develop and implement quality standard testing and evaluation processes
- Assess test results and approves recommended changes
- Review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, compliance, and relevance
- Periodically report the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
- Be accountable for Quality Program management and timely performance of Quality Assurance Department tasks
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in quality management roles with increasing responsibility
- Significant experience may replace the education requirement
- Affiliation with ASQ a plus
- AS9102 experience and execution
- Experience with dimensional inspection and supplier certification
- Internal auditor experience
- Experience with AS9100 rev. D
- Expert level root cause and corrective action experience
- Significant experience in collection of data and statistical process control
- People management skills
- Familiarity with government source inspection
- FAA and/or Department of Defense experience
- Experience with GD&T or IMTE
- Experience with government contract reviews
