About the Job
We are hiring a Quality Inspector for a contract-to-hire assignment in West Springfield, MA. This role is expected to transition to a permanent position within 4-6 months of the start date. The pay range is $25-$29 per hour, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review customer drawings and specifications
- Determine necessary inspection points
- Document inspection and test instructions and any changes
- Maintain quality assurance records
- Follow up on quality assurance and corrective actions
- Perform initial and periodic inspections of special and standard gauges, test equipment, and tooling used in manufacturing
- Ensure inspection and test equipment remain calibrated within established timeframes
Requirements:
- US Citizen
- Minimum 4 years of Quality Inspection experience in a machine shop environment
- Experience with various materials such as sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel, and polymers
- Ability to prepare and read Inspection Reports for quality, measurements, calibration, and other technical documentation
- Proficient in reading blueprint drawings
- Experience with measurement tools (e.g., Micrometers, Gauges) and understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with first piece and final parts inspection
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
