What we do

SMS group is the leading partner in the world of metals. We are an original equipment supplier offering comprehensive maintenance and spare part services for metals production, continuous casting and rolling (flat and long products), tubes, welded pipes, forging, non-ferrous technology, and heat treatment plants - all from a single source.

The right candidate will:

• Carefully inspecting, cleaning, deburring, and identifying outgoing roll for the facility.
• Transporting rolls between shops and prepping rolls for shipment per business demands.
• Working closely with shop employees to ensure consistent and accurate records.
• Following documented working instructions.
• Complete SOP travelers and document daily activities
• Must possess good mechanical skills in daily operations.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes / forklifts.
• Ability to properly rig equipment for use with overhead crane.
• Ability to work with a safety conscientious attitude and report any unsafe acts or area to members of management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What you'll need:

• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to use and interpret various measuring devices, including but not limited to micrometers (OD and ID).
• Ability to work various hours per business demands.
• Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
• Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks.
