The Quality team work alongside ZeroAvian's in niche roles that include supply chain management, product oversight, oversight of the hydrogen and more. They ensure regulatory requirements are met for design and production and conformity to aerospace standards.
ZA is currently looking for an experienced and highly analytical Inspector to join our Quality department. A background in Aerospace, Aircraft Maintenance, Aircraft Systems or Aircraft Manufacturing is highly desired. To excel in this role, applicants should be able to show great attention to detail, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret approved design data.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing incoming inspection of purchased parts, aircraft components, materials and multi-axis machined parts and assemblies per ZeroAvia engineering design data and requirements, industry standards, customer requirements, or regulatory requirements.
- Documenting inspection results by completing inspection plans and/or reports.
- Verification of correct finish/condition, dimensions, configuration or other measurable or observable characteristics per specified inspection plans.
- Verification of supplier provided documentation data for compliancy to engineering requirements. Including special processes.
- Performing and recording first article inspection in accordance with AS9102C as applicable.
- Ability to clearly document nonconforming conditions of components parts and assemblies as appropriate.
- Maintaining receiving inspection data and tool calibration system.
- May be called on to witness assembly operations as needed.
- Assisting with internal audits and service provider external audits as needed
Requirements
Skills and abilities:
- The use of a CMM or PCMM to perform dimensional inspection on multi-axis machined parts.
- Inspecting electronics, motor components and cable harnesses per ZeroAvia and industry standards per IPC-A-610/620 and J-STD-001.
- Working knowledge of quality management system procedures AS9100, AS9145 or ISO9001. Ability to help guide associates in following ZeroAvia’s Quality Management System and processes under EASA parts 21G and 21J.
- Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 21, 33 and 145, FAA conformity forms 8130-9 and 8130-3 are a plus.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in quality control, manufacturing (aerospace, automotive, avionics/electronics, medical device, etc.).
- 3-5 years of experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings per ASNI Y14.5 including GD & T for inspecting complex, multi-axis machined parts. Knowledge of establishing sample sizes for process variation using C = 0 (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 & Z1.9)
- Minimum proficiency of 3 to 5 years using dimensional measuring tools and devices e.g., digital height gages, calipers, micrometers, radius gages, dial indicators, bore gages, profilometer, bench centers, etc., with the ability to use the correct inspection tool with the required accuracy and precision. The use shop math and trigonometry to calculate GD & T tolerances.
- Experience with SPC run charts for data collection on key characteristics. Gage R & R for measurement capability. MSA, measurement system analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft office products, ERP systems, (SAP/Oracle/Net-Suite/Siemens Suite/TipQA) etc.
- Education: High School Diploma, AA or Bachelors Degree. CQI, Certified Quality Inspector is a plus

Benefits
The wage scale or salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:

Retirement: Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching

Short-Term Disability: Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.

️ Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).

️ The Fly Club: up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
