About this Role:
The QFS Manager will be responsible for leading the site Quality and Food Safety (QFS) Team and Sanitation Team to ensure the production of safe, high-quality food products that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and customer expectations. You will be a key stakeholder in all continuous improvement projects at the manufacturing facility and work cross-functionally to ensure food safety and quality standards are upheld through efforts to optimize our processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage onsite QFS and Sanitation teams
- Support and coach QFS Supervisors on personnel and other HR issues
- Ensure HACCP Plan is followed and CCPs are documented, review daily paperwork and sign off
- Oversee EMP program including all PEM and micro testing plans and corrective actions
- Work cross-functionally with other teams at the plant to execute projects
- Manage and escalate issues with third-party service providers
- Meet regularly with contacts to ensure high-level service is upheld and standards are being met
- Track KPIs and work with stakeholders at the plant to stay on track
- Monitor deviations, investigate root cause of issues and document
- Ensure compliance to QFS program and non-negotiables
- Lead preparation and execution of facility QFS audits
- Experience working with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc) and/or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree in food science/food safety relevant field is preferred
- 5+ Years of experience in managing production and or quality teams
- 4+ years Quality & Food Safety related knowledge in cGMPs, SOPs, HACCP, etc.
- 2+ years experience in ATP swabbing & pathogen swabbing; pH meter calibration; Chemical titrations
- Fully educated and aware of U.S. food safety regulations (HACCP & FSMA)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical area such as R&D, product development, quality management systems, or food process engineering
- PCQI and HACCP certified; SQF practitioner preferred
