Position SummaryWe currently have an opportunity available for a Quality Engineer in the Sensors Business Unit. In this position you'll work with the engineering design teams, remote production teams, as well as other departments and vendors to resolve quality problems. You'll also propose and implement product and process quality improvement programs, perform analysis on key quality indicators using industry-accepted techniques, and make recommendations based on test and analysis findings.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
What You'll Be Doing- Quality-based customer support for the Sensors Business Unit
- Study scrap rates, and determine methods of reduction (Some Mfg. floor time is expected for this position to understand Mfg. processes and get hands on experience)
- Proactively determine ways to improve our first pass yield
- Perform failure analysis and work with design teams to resolve quality problems
- Perform trend analysis on key quality indicators using various statistical techniques
- Manage improvement projects related to issues found in product returns
- Manage the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) documents for customers that request it
- Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required- Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical background
- Ability to occasionally travel between manufacturing sites in Minneapolis and South Dakota, and various local vendor sites. Travel to international production locations in Mexico and China as well as suppliers in various countries may also be required. Our estimate of total travel is approximately 5%.
- 3+ years of applicable experience in the electronics industry
- 1+ year of statistical analysis experience in a quality department for a manufacturer of electrical or mechanical products
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, databases, and statistical computer programs
