Global Precision Products is looking to add a 1st shift Quality Engineer to our growing company! We are looking for someone with an Aerospace and Defense background to join our talented team!
The Quality Engineer will work collaboratively with Quality Assurance and Engineering personnel to support quality engineering requirements for customers, suppliers, and internal QMS systems. The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples, and ensuring customer requirements are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Works closely with internal partners, e.g. Mechanical & Quality Engineers and Operators to ensure they meet the compliance requirements including auditing and corrective actions.
- Supports new product introduction (NPI) processes.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of quality documentation.
- Maintaining accurate quality documentation.
- Works closely with the manufacturing team to ensure quality protocols are followed documentation is correctly maintained and implement any new changes or adaptations based on quality review.
- Contributions to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Knowledge of QMS policies and procedures.
- May assist in maintaining a system for calibration of measuring and testing equipment.
- Authority to stop production, and limit further processing or delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency has been corrected.
- Identifies and records any problem relating to the product, process, and QMS.
- Verifies implemented solutions.
- Participates in documenting root cause, corrective, and preventive action.
- Provide inspection support that includes: data collection, first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Maintains quality records.
- Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings.
- Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels.
- Experience and knowledge of the nonconforming material procedure.
- Supports corrective action activities (Nonconforming Material Report)
- Perform Calibration inspections and use of Calibration Software.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Computer Skills – MS Office, QC Calc,
- GD&T and blueprint
- Interpersonal and people skills (Customer Relations)
- Comprehensive Metrology knowledge & use of inspection equipment, such as; Various types of micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, etc.
- Knowledge of various inspection and CMM, vision systems (Smart-Scope, Oasis, Keyence)
- Time Management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, technical/trade school training or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years related experience
- Additional experience may be substituted for formal education
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications required
- Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal and written communications to accomplish the job at hand
- Required to utilize independent judgment related to inspection function and activities
- Must be able to work independently or on a team providing solutions to a range of complex problems
- Possesses good interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills to interface with various levels of employees while performing quality assurance functions
