We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Engineer to join our team! The QA Engineer will serve as a leader and technical resource in the Quality department for part inspection, measuring, managing supplier quality responsibilities, conducting experiments, and monitoring data trends. Will also conduct audits, perform root cause analyses, and drive quality/process improvement opportunities.

Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Engineer to join our team! The QA Engineer will serve as a leader and technical resource in the Quality department for part inspection, measuring, managing supplier quality responsibilities, conducting experiments, and monitoring data trends. Will also conduct audits, perform root cause analyses, and drive quality/process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing Quality Assurance.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015, Internal and third-party (registrar) auditing.
- Working knowledge of PPAP documentation, SPC, control plans, gage R&R studies, and other common manufacturing quality tools
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, determining appropriate inspection techniques, and using measuring equipment, including a vision system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel.
Nice to Haves:
- Green or Black belt.
- Supervisory experience.
- Any kind of vision system/CMM experience (running or programming). Ours is OGP Smart Scope with measure X software.
- Associate degree in Quality or Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or other technical field with (3) years’ experience in Quality Assurance
Key Responsibilities
PPAP/ISIR Package Owner:
- Collaborates with Engineering PM and Quality Technicians to complete domestic and foreign distribution PPAP packages.
- Prepares and completes Part Submission Warrants (PSW), PFMEA, Control Plan, Material Certification, Dimensional Inspection Data, Gage R&R, and other PPAP -elements.
- Understands part drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Oversees the measurement of parts using various equipment, and works with Quality Technicians to complete dimensional data requirements.
- Works directly with customers to ensure their expectations are met.
- Consults with Project Manager, Engineering, and Quality Manager on non-conformances.
- Communicates inspection results, approvals, and customer feedback promptly.
Oversee Quality Assurance Technicians:
- Guides their quality initiatives and interprets data they gather.
ISO Coordinator:
- Leads and completes internal audits with support from internal auditors.
- Leads and completes third-party registrar audits.
- Manages corrective actions as needed.
- Plans and implements continuous improvement initiatives for ISO QMS.
- Coordinates training of internal auditors.
- Assist in Supplier Quality Engineering Opportunities.
Lead/Assist in Cross-Functional Teams:
Conducts root cause analysis for corrective actions.
Quality Lab Vision System Owner:
- Acts as the lead operator, mentors, and provides guidance for quality technicians in general use, capabilities, and equipment maintenance.
- Assists in RGAs, Customer Complaints, and Corrective Actions.
Oversee and Initiate SPC Opportunities:
- Ensures customer requirements are met.
Establish Inspection and Test Methods:
- Develops methods for receiving inserts and manufacturing products as needed.
- QA Representative in New Products and New Product Review Meetings.
Serve as QA Representative in Cross-Functional Continuous Improvement Projects:
- May lead these projects.
- Help Train Quality Personnel and Other Stakeholders:
- Instructs on customer quality expectations, inspection methods, proper gage use, and blueprint reading.
Audit Operators:
- Ensures procedures and work instructions are followed.
- Assists in Customer Audits.
Support and Back Up Quality Manager and Other Quality Assurance Personnel:
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
