Reports To: The Quality Engineer will report to the Director of Manufacturing.

Job Overview: Vertiq is currently seeking a self-motivated Quality Engineer who has a high attention to detail and is process-driven and able to work in small, cross-disciplinary teams. Their primary focus will be to oversee the quality of Vertiq’s products from the reception of subcomponents through Vertiq’s assembly and calibration process. The company is located in Philadelphia, PA. This will be an on-site role with some remote work flexibility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform reception testing to hold suppliers accountable for their quality
- Engage with production employees to assure quality within a BLDC motor and PCBA hardware production environment
- Investigate faulty work and/or materials and advise production supervisors and suppliers as to corrective measures
- Conduct internal audits to ensure SOPs are being followed and implement improvements to enhance quality and process efficiency
- Sign product conformance documentation following builds and keep detailed records of builds
- Process returned parts to determine non-conformances
- Create technical documentation
- Utilize Vertiq ERP system (Inflow) to perform daily activities
- Maintain a QMS system that is compliant with ISO9001:2015 and AS9100 standards
- Communicate with customers & suppliers representing the company in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in hardware quality assurance
- Experience with quality tools and quality techniques (FMEA, DOE, process mapping, etc.)
- Experience following a Quality Management System
- High attention to detail and commitment to following standard operating procedures
Preferred:
- Experience working with drone propulsion systems or other robotic actuation systems
- Certified ISO Auditor and/or Six Sigma belt holder
- Experience in the Aerospace industry
- Experience with PCBA electronics assembly or contract manufacturing of electronic products
