Position Summary:
As the New Product Introduction Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the inspection and submission of custom injection molded products, from kickoff through production approval, ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program advanced measuring equipment to generate First Article Inspection data.
- Perform First Article Inspection using standard quality measuring equipment.
- Implement and oversee the APQP process, including PFMEAs, detailed inspection, control plans, and final submission.
- Lead and advocate for quality activities throughout the process development, verification, validation, design transfer, and release phases, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with other quality functions and report product risks throughout project stages.
- Provide technical guidance to team members to resolve quality-related issues or challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or related field; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Experience: 3+ years in a quality-related field; experience in the automotive industry is preferred. Background in plastic injection molding is a plus.
- Skills & Expertise: Strong mechanical measurement techniques, analytical and detailed-oriented mindset, solid understanding of PFMEAs and APQP, and strong problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with programming measurement equipment (CMM, Smartscope) is a bonus, though training is available for the right candidate.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience is highly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:
- Work Hours: Core hours are 7:00am – 4:30pm (schedule flexibility available; typically around 45 hours per week)
- Work Environment: Primarily office-based with regular visits to manufacturing environments.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to Wisconsin a few times per quarter.
- Reporting To: Quality Manager
- Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and expertise.
