Quality Engineer (in KY) - Wayne Russell & Associates LLC

We are looking to fill a full time Quality Engineer position with a manufacturer located in the Bowling Green / Franklin, KY area.

Salary Range:  $70k to $80k per year.  No relocation assistance is available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Monitor and reduce customer PPM through in-process defect analysis and problem solving.

·        Lead the root cause and countermeasure activity for Customer, internal, and supplier related corrective actions.

·        Support the IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 management systems.

·        Maintain awareness of quality related topics (customer issues, audits, etc.) with all NMMI personnel

·        Review and submit new model PPAP documents such as PFMEA, control plans, PSW etc.

·        Support departmental and companywide suggestion system by acting as role model and resource for completion of projects.

·        Support department and companywide 6S program through leading by example and ensuring their work area is meeting company 6S target. 

·        Act as the voice of the customer, including direct interaction with the customer and establishment as the first line of communication

Non Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Attend / lead meetings as required

·        Participate in inventory and/or cycle counts as needed

·        Other non-essential duties as assigned or required

·        Ability to travel domestically and internationally for customer complaints or supplier problems (less than 10%)

Physical Tasks:

·        Occasional lifting from 1 to 50 lbs

·        Other physical tasks as required

Work Environment/Environmental Conditions:

·        Factory environment with noise and dust

·        Other environmental or work conditions that arise in the course of employment

·        Responsible for performing tasks in an environmentally safe and legal manner

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·        B.S. Degree or equavalent work experience

·        Problem solving methodology (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)

·        Blueprint reading / specification interpretation

·        Quality Core Tools knowledge; certification a plus

·        ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 internal auditor experience;  certification a plus
