Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily tactical support of manufacturing product conformance to specified requirements through quality controls such as Control Plans and Inspection Instructions.
- Implementing containment actions for major Non-Conformances ensuring impact to production is minimal.
- Participate in development activities to pro-actively improve product/processes and prevent nonconforming product.
- Provide performance metrics, analysis, and input for the Quality function to other departments.
- Issue, review and verify corrective actions for effectiveness to prevent reoccurrences.
- Use the warranty and NCP system for review, analysis, and management of defective product.
- Support the use of statistics for product improvement and process control (CP,Cpk)
Qualifications
- Four year college degree or two year college degree with 3 years’ experience and or American Society of Quality (ASQ) (or equivalent) Certified Quality Engineer certification.
- This position requires an individual with strong communication skills and ability to participate with teams.
- Computer literacy, word processing skills (MS Word) and spreadsheet skills (MS Excel) is needed for this position.
- Certain technical skills and training, such as ; quality tools and techniques, ability to read and understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), problem solving skills (8D), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC) are desired.
- Good communication skills, the ability to work effectively with people and the personal drive/sense of urgency necessary to provide needed support in the time frames demanded is required.
- An individual with the flexibility and freedom to travel (Up to 25% travel).
