Responsibilities:
- Ongoing Product Quality: Support the ongoing quality of legacy products and collaborate with project management and manufacturing engineers on new product introductions and ongoing validation.
- Training & Development: Complete all required training to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
- Process Improvement: Utilize various quality tools such as process flowcharting, Pareto analysis, regression analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and design of experiments (DOE) to identify and implement improvements.
- Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality complaints, process them as needed, and ensure resolution.
- Data Analysis & Presentation: Collect, analyze, and present data using statistical methodologies to support quality improvements and decision-making.
- Supplier Support: Assist suppliers in interpreting and meeting quality requirements.
- QMS Deliverables & APQP Support: Assist with the development of key QMS deliverables and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documents, such as complaint analysis, risk analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and process/equipment/software validation.
- Validation Activities: Plan and conduct process and equipment validations, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
- Customer Requirements: Interface with customer contacts to clarify requirements and ensure proper alignment with product specifications.
- Process Capability Studies: Conduct studies to determine machine and process capabilities and implement improvements as needed.
- Inspection Criteria Development: Develop and implement inspection criteria that align with customer requirements, including sampling plans, key characteristic identification, and appropriate gauging methods.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead or contribute to productivity and continuous improvement projects.
- Monitoring & Auditing: Monitor production processes for adherence to internal and external quality standards. Participate in pre- and post-production launch reviews, providing quality engineering support.
- Quality Reviews & Audits: Perform internal audits, evaluate data, and prepare reports to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Standards & Modifications: Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to optimize quality while maintaining equipment capabilities.
- Change Requests: Review and approve product/process and document change requests, ensuring quality standards are upheld.
- Drawing & Specification Reviews: Evaluate product drawings to ensure correct application of geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and material specifications, along with key characteristic identification for inspection plans.
- Performance Monitoring: Measure and analyze key metrics to monitor and improve performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to resolve production and quality issues.
- Safety & Compliance: Reinforce safety expectations and ensure safe operating practices are followed in all processes.
- Quality & Compliance Support: Adhere to all procedures, work instructions, and forms in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS) to support quality and compliance.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Ability to move around the facility occasionally.
- Ability to handle, adjust, inspect, and position various items and equipment as necessary.
